Show us, O God, how to love
not only animals, birds and all green and growing things
but the soil, air, and water by which we live, so
that we may not exploit or pollute them for or own profit or convenience.

Help us to cherish these necessities for our survival; and guide those in authority
to ensure that the human spirit may not be starved in pursuit of material comfort and wealth.
